Mountune was founded in 1979 by David Mountain and quickly established a great reputation for building some of the best Hot Rod and Mini racing engines around. In the late eighties Mountune started preparing the Cosworth YB engine for motorsport. This led to many Championship wins and was the foundation for the development of the business as we see it today.
The business became a limited company in April 1994 and a division of Roush Technologies Ltd in December 2003, moving into new workshops within Roush premises at Hutton, near Brentwood, Essex.
Our experience of racing and rallying with production based engines has a long and impressive pedigree at all levels of motorsport with around 12 different makes supplying base engines. The pedigree even includes diesel where Mountune's reputation for technical innovation has quickly broken new ground in racing.
Mountune have been supplying some of the best oval race engines from its very beginnings and this tradition continues today with Pick Ups, Hot Rods and the SCSA V8s.
